Should I switch real estate brokerages in Philadelphia?

By Bill Kelly, Philadelphia Real Estate Coach and Director of Productivity Coaching at Keller Williams · Updated October 28, 2026

Short answer

Switch brokerages if nobody is coaching you, nobody is holding you accountable, and your activity has stalled because of it. Don't switch to escape your own lack of activity. If you weren't making calls at your old brokerage, you won't make them at the new one either.

Good reasons to switch

  • No one has looked at your numbers in months
  • There's no weekly training or role play
  • You can't get answers on contracts when you need them
  • The agents who succeed there do a type of business you don't want

Bad reasons to switch

  • A slightly better split on deals you aren't closing
  • Someone promised you leads
  • You haven't had a conversation in 3 weeks and want a fresh start

Ask yourself first

How many conversations did you have last week? If the honest answer is under 10, the problem may not be your brokerage. Fix that first, then decide. If you're doing the work and nobody is helping, that's when a switch makes sense.
