I'm in real estate school right now. What should I be doing besides studying?

Short answer

While you're in pre-licensing class, start building your database, interview brokerages, and tell people you're getting your license. The agents who close a deal in their first 90 days almost always started their business before they passed the exam.

Your pre-license checklist

  • Write down 200 people you know and get them into a spreadsheet
  • Tell your sphere you're getting licensed so they're not surprised later
  • Interview at least 2 brokerages and ask who will coach you
  • Go to an open house with an agent and watch how they talk to visitors
  • Start posting short videos about what you're learning

Don't wait to feel ready

You will never feel fully ready. The class teaches you the law. It doesn't teach you how to get a client. That comes from conversations, and you can start having them today.

Still need to pay for the class? I can get your 75-hour class paid for through the KSCORE scholarship: calendly.com/billkellykw/kscore-scholarship-meeting or (215) 828-5286.
