Is real estate coaching worth it for a new agent?

By Bill Kelly, Philadelphia Real Estate Coach and Director of Productivity Coaching at Keller Williams · Updated September 23, 2026

Short answer

Real estate coaching is worth it for a new agent who will actually be held accountable. It's not worth it if you're looking for more information. Most new agents already know what to do. A good coach closes the gap between what you know and what you consistently do.

What a coach actually does

A coach is not a cheerleader and not a lecturer. A coach asks questions, challenges assumptions, points out blind spots, and makes sure the right activities happen week after week, especially the weeks you don't feel like it.

Coaching is worth it if you...

  • Want someone to look at your real numbers every week
  • Will do the activities even when they're uncomfortable
  • Are open to hearing the truth about your business
  • Want to build a repeatable business, not just close one deal

Coaching is probably not worth it if you...

  • Want more courses and more information
  • Want someone to tell you you're doing great
  • Aren't willing to track what you do
