What Is the Best Brokerage for a Brand New Agent in Philadelphia?

By Bill Kelly, Philadelphia Real Estate Coach and Director of Productivity Coaching at Keller Williams · Updated November 1, 2026

Short answer

The best brokerage for a brand new agent in Philadelphia is the one that will train you, coach you by name, and notice if you stop working. A familiar brand or a higher split does not help you in month 3 if nobody is there. I recommend Keller Williams, because that is where I coach new agents every week at KW Main Line and KW Empower.

How should a new agent pick a brokerage?

Pick for month 3, not for the welcome lunch. Every office looks good on day 1. Ask what a normal week looks like 90 days in. If the answer is that you are your own boss and nobody is checking, that office will let you drift.

Ask four questions and write down the answers. What do you actually do for me in month 3? Who is my coach, by name, and how often do we meet? What is a higher split worth if nobody holds me to the work? If I am not licensed yet, can you help get the class paid for?

What should a new agent look for in training, coaching, and support?

Look for training that is on a calendar, with a person teaching it. A folder of videos is information. It is not training. Look for a coach who will sit with six numbers every week: attempts, conversations, opportunities, appointments, contracts, and closings. Look for someone who calls when you go quiet.

You also want agents in the office who already sell where you want to sell. South Philly, Center City, Rittenhouse, and the Main Line are different businesses. Join the office where those agents will let you learn, including by hosting their open houses.

About 10 real opportunities turn into 1 closing. An office that helps you create opportunities will do more for you than an office that only talks about the split.

Should a new agent join Keller Williams?

A new agent should join Keller Williams if they want a coach they can name and a regular time on the calendar. That is what I offer at KW Main Line and KW Empower. I coach about 66 active agents across those two offices. I'm not going to run down any other company. Ask each office the same questions. Take the one that can name your coach and show you the calendar.

Can a brokerage help me get the 75-hour class paid for?

I can get your 75-hour Pennsylvania pre-licensing class paid for through the KSCORE scholarship, delivered by Kaplan. Terms vary by market center, so book a call and I'll tell you straight whether you qualify.
