Why Agents Join Keller Williams In Philadelphia

By Bill Kelly, Philadelphia Real Estate Coach and Director of Productivity Coaching at Keller Williams · Updated October 31, 2026

Every brokerage's recruiting page says the same four things. Great culture. Great tools. Great training. Great split. You've read them all, and you can't tell them apart because there's nothing to tell apart.

So here's what's actually different about working with me at Keller Williams in Philadelphia, and, just as important, who this isn't for. I coach about 66 agents across KW Main Line and KW Empower. What I offer them is coaching that's real, and that's the whole page.

What Coaching Actually Means Here

Almost every brokerage says it offers coaching or mentorship. Ask what it looks like and the answer is often a name on an onboarding sheet, or a promise that somebody's door is always open. That isn't coaching. That's availability.

Here's what coaching means when you work with me:

  • A named coach. You know exactly who it is, by name, not "the team" or "leadership."
  • A set cadence. Sessions on the calendar, at a regular time, that happen whether you had a good week or a bad one.
  • Tracked numbers. We look at what you actually did, not how you feel about what you did.
  • Somebody who notices when you stop. If you go quiet, you'll hear about it. Not to scold you. To find out what happened.

That last one matters more than people expect. Most agents don't fail because they lack information. They fail because they lack consistent execution. They know what to do. They stop doing it for a week, then two, then a month, and nobody notices until it's a real problem. By then the pipeline's empty and getting started again feels twice as hard.

A coach isn't a cheerleader. I'm not going to tell you you're crushing it when you're not. A coach isn't a lecturer either. I'm not going to talk at you for an hour about mindset. Mostly I ask questions. What did you say you'd do? What did you do? What got in the way? What are you going to do this week?

And accountability isn't punishment. It's helping somebody line their actions up with their goals. You set the goal. My job is to help you see whether your week is actually pointed at it.

So ask yourself: when was the last time somebody sat down with you and looked at your numbers? Not your closings. Your activity. If you can't remember, you already know what's missing.

The Numbers You'll Be Held To

There are six of them:

  • Attempts
  • Conversations
  • Opportunities
  • Appointments
  • Contracts
  • Closings

Agents who track these six can predict their income. Agents who don't are guessing. Conversations create opportunities. Opportunities create appointments. Appointments create contracts. Contracts create closings. Roughly 10 real opportunities produce 1 closing, so once you know your numbers, you can work out what your year looks like at your current pace, and what has to change to get the year you want.

Week to week, accountability looks like this. You come in with your numbers. We look at where the chain broke. Lots of attempts and few conversations is one kind of problem. Lots of conversations and no appointments is a different one. We pick the fix, you commit to the activity for the coming week, and next session we look at whether it happened. That's it. It isn't complicated. It's just consistent, which is the part most agents can't do alone.

Lead generation solves most business problems. So when the numbers are low, that's usually where we start. Do you know your six numbers from last week?

Should A New Agent Join Keller Williams?

Yes, if you want a named coach and a week that has structure. That is why I recommend Keller Williams to new agents. At KW Main Line and KW Empower you get a coach you can name, a set time on the calendar, and a weekly look at your numbers. I coach about 66 active agents across those two offices. A logo and a split do not get you through month 3. Someone who notices when you stop does.

I'm not going to tell you another brokerage is a bad place. I don't know their business. Ask every office the same two questions before you join: who is my coach, by name, and what does a normal week look like 90 days in? Write down the answers. Take the office that can answer plainly.

More on that choice: the best brokerage for a brand new agent in Philadelphia, and how to become a real estate agent in Philadelphia. To talk it through, book a call at calendly.com/billkellykw.

If You're Not Licensed Yet

I can get your 75-hour Pennsylvania pre-licensing class paid for through the KSCORE scholarship, delivered by Kaplan. Terms vary by market center, so book a call and I'll tell you straight whether you qualify.

Book the scholarship session here: calendly.com/billkellykw/kscore-scholarship-meeting. Are you seriously thinking about this as a career? Then it's worth the call.

If You're Already Producing Somewhere Else

This part is for you if you're licensed, you're doing some business, and you're quietly unhappy. Maybe you're getting no training worth the name. Maybe nobody's holding you accountable to anything. Maybe you feel like you're running a business completely on your own while paying somebody for the privilege.

I'm not going to tell you anything about your brokerage. I don't know it, and it's not my place. I'll just ask you one question and let you answer it honestly.

What did your brokerage do for you in the last 90 days?

Not what they offered. What they did. Did anybody look at your numbers? Did anybody call when you had a slow month? Did you learn something that changed how you work? If the answer is a good one, stay where you are. Seriously. If you had to think hard to come up with anything, that's worth paying attention to.

What would your business look like with a set coaching session every week and somebody who knew your numbers as well as you do?

Who This Isn't For

If you're looking for the highest split and nothing else, this isn't for you. There are places built around the split, and you should go there. I mean that.

It also isn't for somebody who wants to be left alone. If you don't want anybody asking about your activity, you won't like working with me, because that's most of what I do.

It's for agents who want to be held to what they said they'd do. Is that you?

Have A Real Conversation About It

If any of this sounds like what you've been missing, call me or book a time. No pitch. We'll talk about where you are and whether this fits.
